Be Careful Who You Walk With....

Published on

...as it will determine the road that you take.

It’s easy to discount the spiritual, when we live in the physical, surrounded by things we can see. Many feel that if one can’t see it, then it simply doesn’t exist. Yet nothing could be further from the truth. Along with this physical world we live in, there is also a spiritual one, which is just as real, if not even more so, than this world we can see - EPHESIANS 6:12 states this as a fact.

The forces of darkness which work for satan’s kingdom, are counting on you remaining oblivious to this fact. As a result, it makes things easier for those who wish to oppose the blessings, new opportunities, and spiritual advancements that God has in place for you to receive.

If you are currently in a relationship of any sort – be it a friendship, romantic connection, or family kinship which begins from the point of birth, then you are susceptible to receiving a spiritually transmitted disease. Ways of transference can include a hug, brief touch, kiss, holding hands, laying on of hands, or even sharing drinks or food with someone, as that includes transmission of DNA.

ACTS 19:13-16 confirms that spirits can indeed leap from one person to another, and sometimes it does not even need physical contact in order to do this.

The easiest and most common way of transfer is through sexual contact, and as a result, makes anyone who is sexually active, open and at risk of spiritual corruption. For the bible clearly states that two become one during the act of intercourse - 1 CORINTHIANS 6:16, and if two are as one flesh, working together, then that tells us they must be in spiritual agreement.

You are probably wondering what type of spiritual corruption can come about from sexual contact with others, so I will break things down, so you can understand on a deeper level.

At one point in your life, you have probably met a person who always seemed troubled, depressed, or who carried a sadness that seemed unexplainable. Everytime you came into contact with them, they seemed to have a dark cloud looming over their head, and there was an energy which surrounded them, that made it clear they were in a depressive state.

Undoubtedly this person was carrying an oppressive spirit. One that cloaked them in its gloomy energy, and completely overtook their natural God-given state of being. If you read JOB 3:5, you can see that gloom and darkness worked hand in hand, laying claim to a particular place. And in JOB 23:17, we see that gloom itself, came over Job, who is a man.

One of the best examples in scripture which shows a person under demonic oppression, can be found in MARK 5:2-5. These biblical verses clearly tell us there was a man who dwelled in a dark, dank cave who would cry out and cut himself with stones.

Now knowing this is not normal behavior, one could clearly come to realize this man was under demonic depression, and in MARK 5:8, we see Jesus actually call out this ungodly spirit, so it would loose itself from the man.

So using this very scripture as proof that emotional illnesses are indeed due to evil spirits who house themselves inside human beings, we can then know for certain that afflictions such as depression, weariness, fatigue, anger, belligerence, etc, are Spirits, sent from the enemy to put the person into bondage.

Now we as human beings have our own, God-given spirit, which He, the Father, has housed inside of us - JOB 32:8. This is known as the Spirit of Man – PROVERBS 20:27, and if you break down the word spirit, its definition reads as this: the nonphysical part of a person which is the seat of emotions and character; the soul.

Now what does a seat do? It contains, correct? Because if you think of a seat of a car, it holds our bodies as we drive around, allowing us a place to sit down and be held. So your spirit is what actually holds your emotions and character, and it is your spirit which allows for communication between you and God.

GALATIANS 4:6 tells us that God sent the spirit of Jesus Christ into our hearts, and that the spirit of Jesus allows us to cry out, “Abba, Father”, whenever we are in need of God. So this proves to us that it is indeed our very spirits, which allows us communication with the Father. JOHN 4:24 further backs this up, by letting us know we are expected to worship God in the spirit, as God is a spirit Himself.

This is why it is imperative for you to protect your God-given spirit, so communication with the Creator will not be cut off. Our spirits are meant to be the lamp of the Lord – PROVERBS 20:27. Our spirit is also meant to bear witness that we are children of GOD, as ROMANS 8:16 tells us.

Going back to the definition of the word spirit, we can remember that it is described as: the nonphysical part of a person. Notice the word ‘nonphysical’ in the definition, which takes us back to what I was saying about the spiritual world, which is non-tangible, and unable to be seen.

Yet although it is invisible to the naked eye, this non-physical part of a person has a huge impact on their day-to-day life. A person’s spirit can be felt, and someone who is especially discerning in the spiritual sense, can tell when a particular spirit is operating in an individual’s life.

For instance, there are spirits of confusion, depression, pride, lust, fornication, and the list goes on. Each of these negative spirits are a part of satan’s hierarchy, and are responsible for carrying out specific duties, in order to destroy, kill, steal, control –John 10:10, and alter a person’s thoughts, decisions, emotions, destiny, or even the God-given gifts that they had received before birth.

Once under control of a demonic spirit, a person can feel drained, hopeless, depressed, double-minded, or just generally off-balance, and this is a sure sign that you have been the receiver of a spiritually transmitted disease. What you caught was never yours to begin with, yet due to plain ignorance, reckless behavior, or just flat out lustful actions, you can easily become infected with an evil spirit someone else was carrying.

CORINTHIANS 16:4 tells us that being yoked with an unbeliever, as unbelievers are lawkess, while believers in Christ, are righteous people. It then goes on to state that unbelievers are of darkness, while believers, are of light.

The word yoked refers to a wooden bar joining two oxen together, and the burden they would then have to pull, as they are walking side by side. So be careful who you sleep with, marry, and become friends with, as these all constitute being in agreement with the other, and therefore having covenant with one another. What one does, the other feels and will have to go through in the spiritual sense.

When one has spiritual issues, the other will as well, as once again, they are in spiritual agreement, whether they realize it or not. Just as a twin can feel and understand what their other half is going through, those in a couple, whether it be a romantic partnership or a platonic one, will also feel the spiritual pain the other half is enduring, and come under the bondage of mental illnesses, spiritual issues, and a variety of other challenges, emotional problems, and spiritual losses that their friend or spouse will go through.

This is not to say that their issues will be identical to the ones you yourself are enduring, but more often than not, they will indeed be similar, as the demonic entities working in one person, can be easily transferred to the other person. For example, say you have a friend or spouse who often curses. Do you not eventually fall prey to doing the very same, and soon, you begin to curse without even realizing it.

Or maybe your friend enjoys shopping often, while you were the more thrifty one, and preferred to save your money. Pretty soon you will most likely be encouraged to accompany this friend on shopping trips, and that spirit of gluttony – in relation to shopping and acquiring material items - will begin manifesting in you as well.

Or, perhaps one spouse prefers eating healthy, while the other is junk food addict. Both can encourage and have influence over the other, but the stronger spirit will win out, over the other. PROVERBS 27:17 tells us that as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. So if one person can sharpen another, wouldn’t this also tell us that a person can cause spiritual dullness, as well?

Demonic entities have a mission to carry out, and therefore are in charge of loosing particular spirits upon the person or persons, which they have been assigned to. MATTHEW 23:4 tells us that these burdens we take on from others we are in covenant with, will be heavy and lain upon our shoulders, so just be careful who you partnership with, as both the good and the bad that they carry, will then come into your own life, as well.

Now if what I’ve included in this teaching all sounds implausible or like a flat out fairy tale to you, I would seriously suggest you rethink that, because it’s all very real and completely serious. Any person who is God-centered would not only pay attention to and guard their spirit, soul, and emotions, but learn how to arm themselves with as many spiritual tools as possible, in order to remain safe on the spiritual level.
